Abstract

The purpose of the article is to explore employees' perceptions of the hybrid work system, identify its advantages and disadvantages, and present expectations associated with this form of work. It has been established that the hybrid work model combines the benefits of remote work and office-based work. The gradual shift towards a hybrid work model is a response to modern challenges and a strategic tool for achieving business success and sustainable development. It has been proven that the hybrid work model: 1) provides a balanced work environment where employees can divide their time between working in the office and in the comfort of their homes; 2) helps companies attract a broader pool of talent; 3) complements the physical and psychosocial demands of the work environment. The advantages of hybrid work are characterized by indicators such as job satisfaction, engagement, or an individual’s subjective sense of well-being. A survey regarding employees' perceptions and expectations of the hybrid work model revealed the following advantages: time savings due to the absence of daily commuting between home and the workplace (93%), savings on transportation costs (85%), lower food costs (31%), ease of handling formalities in case of illness (73%), flexible work schedule (72%), the ability to combine work with family responsibilities (58%), a greater sense of freedom and independence (41%). Disadvantages: lack of regular contact with the team (91%), difficulty maintaining work-life balance (72%), challenging adaptation for new employees (53%), issues with tasks requiring teamwork (26%), reduced professional development opportunities for employees (22%). In terms of improving well-being through hybrid work, employees expect: bonuses related to this form of work; the organization of integration meetings; employer initiatives to support team integration; provision of necessary equipment to avoid the need to use personal resources.
