Abstract

War creates extreme conditions that significantly increase the level of stress among the civilian population, the military, the media and other event participants. This negatively affects the general state of health and functioning of people. Therefore, the article examines theoretical approaches to the study of the essence of stress during the war and allows ways of forming stress resistance of the individual.

The purpose of the article is created in the studied theoretical models and practical approaches to stress resistance during the war. To realize the set goal, methods of comparative analysis were used - to generalize theoretical information and conducted research; comparative method - to compare different approaches and models of stress resistance; empirical methods - surveys, questionnaires when collecting primary data; statistical methods - for processing and analysis of the received amounts of data.

Results. The article analyzes current models of stress, particularly the diathesis-stress model, and examines stress that occurs in military settings, including distress, chronic stress, and social stress. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of factors affecting the level of stress resistance, and practical recommendations for overcoming stressful situations are proposed. The article is based on the results of sociological research and scientific works on the psychology of stress. Modern models of stress, such as the diathesis-stress model, help to better understand the mechanisms of stress and its effects on mental health. The key types of stress arising in military conditions are identified: distress, chronic stress, social and psychological stress, each of which requires separate management and coping methods.

Conclusions. It has been established that stress during war is a complex phenomenon that negatively affects the psychological and physical state of a person, especially in the context of a constant threat to life. Studies of stress during the war have shown that the majority of Ukrainians are at risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder, which is confirmed by sociological studies.
