The purpose of the study was to determine ways to optimize costs at enterprises in the packaging industry, depending on the size and form of ownership of enterprises in the conditions of modern economic instability. The research methods included a systematic approach to the analysis of internal and external factors affecting the costs of enterprises. costs, as well as increasing their resilience to economic changes. The results of the study confirm that effective cost management is possible through the integration of the latest technologies, process automation, and the application of innovative approaches to financial planning. However, for small and medium-sized enterprises, it is important to take into account the limited resources and the need to apply flexible, adaptive strategies. The results confirm that successful optimization of costs at small and medium-sized enterprises is possible only with a comprehensive approach, which includes not only cost reduction, but also adaptation to changing external economic conditions. To increase the efficiency of this industry, it is necessary to optimize costs, including energy, raw materials, labor, depreciation of fixed assets, logistics and administrative costs. The main directions of cost optimization include the introduction of new technologies and automation of processes, which reduces dependence on manual labor and increases productivity. Investments in energy-efficient technologies and innovative materials help reduce energy costs. In addition, optimization of inventory management and logistics chains allows you to reduce costs for transportation and storage of products. Labor management also plays an important role: improving the skills of employees helps to improve productivity and reduce the number of defects. In general, effective cost management at all stages of production helps to increase the financial results and competitiveness of enterprises in the packaging industry. The proposed strategies allow not only to increase cost efficiency, but also to ensure the stability of enterprises in times of crisis, which is especially important in the context of global economic changes. The study makes a significant contribution to the development of new practical approaches to cost management at enterprises in conditions of economic instability.
