Abstract

The rapid development of the digital economy has significantly impacted business operations, requiring enterprises to adapt to new technological and market conditions. The optimization of business processes through digital tools is crucial for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing the competitiveness of regions. As digital transformation accelerates, regions that fail to integrate modern technologies risk economic stagnation and a loss of market attractiveness. Many enterprises face challenges related to outdated infrastructure, insufficient digital literacy, and resistance to innovation, highlighting the need for systematic approaches to business process optimization. Given the growing role of digital platforms, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain in economic activities, identifying effective strategies for integrating these technologies into business processes is of great importance. Addressing these issues contributes to strengthening regional economic resilience, attracting investment, and stimulating sustainable growth.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of business process optimization in the digital economy on regional competitiveness and to identify effective strategies for digital transformation. The research examines key technological trends, the role of digitalization in improving labor productivity, and the barriers that hinder its implementation.

Methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, and systematization.

The results indicate that regions actively implementing digital tools achieve higher economic efficiency, increased innovation potential, and stronger integration into global value chains. The study identifies critical factors influencing the success of digital transformation, such as government support, workforce readiness, and technological infrastructure.

The conclusions emphasize the necessity of comprehensive digital strategies that combine technological investments with human capital development. Effective business process optimization in the digital economy enables regions to enhance their economic potential, improve business resilience, and achieve long-term competitiveness in an increasingly digitalized global market.
