Abstract

Risk management for small and medium-sized businesses becomes more important in armed conflicts. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of military threats on the risk management system of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine and develop effective strategies for adapting businesses to crisis conditions. Methods. The study used a comprehensive research approach, integrating methods of risk management assessment, statistical analysis of SMEs' economic activity under wartime conditions, and comparative analysis of business resilience strategies. Additionally, the research applies digital risk management techniques, including cybersecurity analysis, artificial intelligence-based risk assessment models, and cloud technology evaluation for crisis management. Results. It finds that digitalization is an important risk management tool that helps to increase the resilience of enterprises. It examines the historical context of the influence of large corporations on global security and international economic relations. Significant attention is paid to changes in logistics, financial flows, and the interaction of companies with government agencies. The need for government support and international cooperation to ensure the stability of the economic sector is emphasized. Particular attention is paid to cybersecurity issues, in particular the increase in the number of attacks on corporate systems. Measures are proposed to increase the cyber resilience of businesses, including the creation of detailed data security plans, the use of cloud technologies, and the implementation of risk management systems based on artificial intelligence. Conclusions. Cyber resilience requires a holistic strategy that integrates advanced cybersecurity technologies, workforce development, and flexible crisis response planning. Companies should prioritize proactive risk management, continuous monitoring of cyber threats, and strategic collaboration with government bodies and international cybersecurity organizations. The combination of these measures not only protects business operations from cyberattacks but also strengthens national economic security and digital resilience in the face of ongoing threats.
