Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the cost-effectiveness of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in small and medium-sized businesses. The main advantages, financial obstacles and risks of artificial intelligence integration are identified, and modern strategies for assessing its effectiveness are considered.

The research methodology is based on an integrated approach that includes system analysis, comparative method, statistical modeling, and financial performance evaluation. The article analyzes the data of global and Ukrainian studies on the introduction of artificial intelligence in small and medium-sized businesses, using classical financial metrics, operational and customer-oriented performance indicators.

The results show that the use of artificial intelligence in small and medium-sized businesses helps to reduce operating costs by 10–30%, reduce customer support costs by 25%, and improve the accuracy of sales forecasting by 20–25%. Over the past five years, the number of businesses using AI technologies to personalize customer service has increased by 60%, resulting in a 15–20% increase in sales conversion. Despite financial obstacles and the need for significant investments, businesses that implement AI technologies gain long-term competitive advantages. The introduction of artificial intelligence into small and medium-sized businesses is economically feasible, but requires a strategic approach, planning, and investment.

The conclusions state that to increase the efficiency of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into business processes, it is recommended to use comprehensive assessment methods that cover financial, operational, and customer-oriented indicators. Government support, access to financing, and educational programs for the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies can contribute to a more active digital transformation of small and medium-sized businesses.
