The agricultural sector of Ukraine is a key component of the national economy and forms the basis for ensuring the sovereignty of the state, guaranteeing food and economic security, promotes the development of technologically related sectors of the economy and forms the socio-economic foundations of the development of rural areas.
Agriculture, with its pronounced seasonal, cyclical nature of reproduction, is a sector that is more backward in technological terms than industry and provides a lower return on invested capital. The high cost of Ukrainian agricultural products, their non-compliance with international standards, low levels of investment and state support significantly reduce the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and increase the likelihood of various types of risks (political, economic, social, technological, etc.). Developed countries, where state support stimulates the modernization of equipment and technologies, have achieved high results in food security for the population. Given the level of government support for the agricultural sector, domestic enterprises attract credit funds to replenish working capital and make long-term investments.
To achieve the competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector in the international market, it is necessary to modernize not only the technical base, but also management processes, which will contribute to increasing the efficiency of resource use and reducing production costs.
Innovative technologies play an important role, which allow not only to reduce the cost of production, but also to increase its quality, in accordance with international standards. Given the potential of Ukraine in the agricultural sector, state support should be aimed not only at financial assistance, but also at creating conditions for sustainable development through improving infrastructure, reducing administrative barriers and stimulating the development of scientific and research work.
Not only loans are important for attracting investment, but also various forms of partnership between the state, business and scientific institutions. Private investors, in turn, must have confidence in the stability of legal norms and the economic situation in the country, which requires improving investment protection policies and mechanisms.
It is worth paying attention to the need to develop export opportunities, because Ukraine has significant potential in supplying agricultural products to foreign markets, it is important to create strategic partnerships with other countries and develop logistics networks that will ensure effective and timely delivery of products.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of the agricultural industry of Ukraine, identify the main problems that hinder its development and determine possible ways for its further development.
The study used a statistical method, which allowed analyzing and assessing the development trends of the agricultural industry.
