Industrial tourism in the system of reconstruction of economic subjectivity of communities in the post-war period

Abstract

The article offers a scholarly analysis of industrial tourism as a strategic instrument for reconstructing the economic subjectivity of communities in the post-war period. Amid large-scale destruction of industrial, social, and institutional infrastructure caused by the armed aggression of the russian federation, the challenge lies not only in the physical restoration of territories but also in the redefinition of local identities, the formation of new economic focal points, and the affirmation of communities as full-fledged agents of spatial development. In this context, industrial tourism is considered not a marginal segment of cultural policy but a multidimensional platform that interweaves memory and investment, creative economy and social integration, local initiative and national strategy.

The research explores the transformation of the concept of economic subjectivity under the conditions of war, identifies the key functions of industrial tourism as a tool for symbolic and economic reactivation of communities, and examines the conditions necessary for the investment viability of this sector at the regional level. Particular attention is devoted to scenario-based modeling of industrial tourism development, presented through four strategic trajectories - inertial, basic, cooperative, and innovation-driven institutional. Five essential strategic vectors are highlighted, the implementation of which within the basic scenario framework lays the foundation for a shift toward more sustainable and dynamic growth models.

The findings demonstrate that, with appropriate institutionalization, human capital development, social dialogue, and digital support, industrial tourism can become not merely a tourism product but a strategic resource for restoring the subjectivity of communities that have lost not only their infrastructure but also their sense of economic coherence and forward-looking purpose.
