Abstract

The purpose of the article is to investigate the relationship between electronic commerce and premium packaging within the context of trade development in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and to determine strategic approaches for adapting the product policy of Ukrainian producers to the requirements of this market.

The study applies analysis of UAE regulatory documents, comparative analysis of premium packaging requirements, systematization of technological solutions in smart and eco-packaging, as well as the case study method to assess the practices of local brands, particularly Al Nassma.

The findings demonstrate that premium packaging plays a crucial role in shaping consumer experience in digital trade, performing functions of value signalling, authenticity confirmation, and creating an emotional unboxing effect. The research identifies key trends in the UAE market: the growing premiumisation of consumer demand, increasing importance of AR/VR product presentations, stricter environmental requirements for packaging materials, mandatory labeling in Arabic, cultural relevance of visual design, and high standards of logistics reliability under conditions of elevated temperatures. It is established that the effectiveness of electronic commerce directly depends on the adaptability of packaging to online channels, as well as its ability to ensure product integrity, fast order processing, and consumer trust in the brand.

The article summarizes strategic recommendations for Ukrainian producers entering the UAE market, including the integration of smart-packaging solutions, compliance with ESMA and Halal regulatory requirements, the application of premium design and personalization, and strengthening digital presence through online marketing channels. It is proven that the synergy of electronic commerce and premium packaging forms a competitive advantage for brands in the dynamic UAE market environment and can be effectively used by Ukrainian companies to scale their international business activities.
