Ukraine’s energy sector faces challenges caused by war, aging infrastructure, and the need to meet international climate commitments. Under these circumstances, introducing green technologies is becoming increasingly relevant to ensure energy security, economic recovery, and sustainable development. The proposed study analyzes the role of innovative technologies in transforming the country’s energy sector in the face of modern challenges.
The study aims to identify the role of green technologies in transforming Ukraine’s energy sector and enhancing interaction between energy consumers and producers under current challenges.
The research applies a system analysis to assess the state of the energy sector, a comparative analysis of international renewable energy practices, and graphical methods to summarize key trends.
The findings show that Ukraine’s energy sector operates under significant constraints caused by war, aging infrastructure, and limited financial resources. The study demonstrates that the implementation of green technologies, particularly renewable energy sources, contributes to strengthening energy security and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Key global trends are identified, including the growing share of renewable energy, digitalization of energy systems, and electrification of transport. Policy instruments such as feed-in tariffs, grants, and subsidies are analyzed. Special attention is given to prosumerism as a model of interaction that involves consumers in energy production.
The study proves that the integration of green technologies with prosumer approaches creates a foundation for a sustainable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly energy system in Ukraine. The practical value of the results lies in their applicability for improving energy policy and adapting European experience
