Abstract

The relevance of the study stems from the need to develop a theoretically grounded and methodologically coherent approach to assessing the resilience of business processes as a key component of a company’s economic security–a research area that remains insufficiently explored in contemporary scholarly literature. The purpose of the study is to generalize theoretical approaches to evaluating business process resilience and to substantiate mechanisms for integrating diagnostic procedures into the economic security management system of an enterprise. The research applies methods of system and process analysis, comparative-structural generalization, risk-oriented assessment, modelling elements, and digital analytics tools, which ensured the complexity and multidimensionality of the results obtained. The study establishes that business process resilience is determined by a combination of adaptability, functional stability, flexibility, and recoverability, and that its level directly affects the enterprise’s ability to counter operational threats and maintain strategic sustainability. The paper reveals the advantages of systemic, process-based, risk-oriented, and innovation-driven digital approaches to diagnostics, emphasizing the necessity of their integrated application to obtain a reliable assessment of business process performance. The scientific novelty lies in the development of an integrated “Business Process Resilience Diagnostic Matrix,” which combines structural, functional, risk, and digital assessment components. The proposed matrix forms a basis for creating an adaptive system of preventive management, enhances the analytical capabilities of the enterprise, and reduces risk exposure through early detection of deviations. The practical value of the results consists in the possibility of applying the matrix under real business conditions to improve diagnostic accuracy, optimize operational decision-making, develop response scenarios to emerging threats, and advance digital mechanisms for managing economic security. The findings provide a methodological foundation for further research on operational resilience assessment and the improvement of enterprise risk management systems.
