Self-Management as a component of the management culture of higher education employees

The education of the new century is perceived by society as one of the highest values of life, and the importance of professional activity and self-management of teachers is growing. The article is devoted to the consideration and interpretation of the concept of “self-management”, which is relevant for the theory of pedagogical science and educational practice. The author examines the concept of self-management from different perspectives and offers his own definition of this term in the context of higher education employees. The conceptual approaches to self-management, its goals and significance are analyzed. The features of self-management as a tool for the development of managerial culture of higher education employees are determined.
The purpose of the article is to identify the features of self-management as an integral part of the formation of the managerial culture of higher education employees and to provide recommendations for the practical stage of improving the level of managerial culture of modern scientific and pedagogical workers.
Research methods. The study is based on the analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization of theoretical provisions and methodological foundations on the issues of self-management in order to determine the essence and structure of its professional self-development and generalization of theoretical and research data to substantiate the technology of forming readiness for professional self-development and self-improvement of higher education employees.
The conclusions emphasize the importance of self-management as the foundation of the modern educational paradigm. An employee of the modern educational complex needs personal and professional habilitation to make adjustments to professional activities and develop a fundamentally new individual trajectory. The article provides recommendations for improving the level of managerial culture of higher education employees, aimed at developing the skills of self-organization and self-management of intellectual and moral resources, as well as mastering the necessary skills in the field of self-education and self-improvement. The article presents a number of managerial influences that a scientific and pedagogical worker applies to himself/herself in order to bring his/her own personality to the state of necessary successful performance of professional activities.
The study results can be applied in the field of modern educational complex, in the planning of scientific and pedagogical staff of their own professional life, as well as in the formation of advanced training programs in higher education.
