Abstract

Human resource management is a critical aspect for ensuring the effectiveness and stability of any organization. One of the key elements of this process is considering gender equality, which significantly influences the formation of organizational culture, labor productivity, and the creation of an inclusive environment for all employees. Considering a gender approach in human resources management contributes to a more equitable distribution of opportunities for career growth, professional development, and increasing motivation levels among employees.

The application of gender approaches is particularly important in sectors such as construction, where men traditionally dominate. This creates a certain imbalance in the workforce structure and is one of the reasons for the low participation of women in production processes. As of 2023, only 14.6% of women work in the construction industry, reflecting existing stereotypes about «male» professions, as well as limited opportunities for women in the field.

Wages in construction are an important factor that also has a gender aspect. Despite certain wage differences between men and women in this field, women sometimes earn higher salaries due to their positions in leadership or administrative roles. However, in the general context, women in Ukraine earn 15% less than men, indicating a gender pay gap.

Implementing gender-sensitive approaches in human resource management can help reduce these disparities. This includes creating equal opportunities for women in technical and engineering specialties, ensuring equal access to career advancement, and eliminating stereotypes that exist in the labor market. The analysis of gender’s impact on labor productivity shows that organizations with gender-sensitive approaches achieve better results in their operations. Gender equality policies also improve the moral climate within teams, promote high motivation, and reduce stress among employees.

The application of these approaches not only helps improve labor efficiency but also contributes to the development of corporate culture, which is the foundation for the sustainable development of an organization. Successfully implementing gender equality in human resource policy helps create a healthy, inclusive environment that supports equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of their gender, which, in turn, leads to higher overall productivity within the organization.

Thus, studying gender aspects in human resource management is a crucial step in the development of modern enterprises, and the application of gender-sensitive policies in the construction industry can become the foundation for improving labor productivity and enhancing the moral climate within the workforce.
