Archiving Policy
The journal "Achievements of Economics: Perspectives and Innovations" supports the principles of Open Access and encourages the widest possible dissemination of research results. This policy defines the rights of authors regarding the self-archiving of different manuscript versions in institutional, disciplinary, and general repositories.
All articles in the journal are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Copyright for published articles is retained by the authors.
1. Manuscript Versions: Definitions
For the purposes of this policy, three manuscript versions are distinguished:
Submitted Manuscript (Preprint) — the author's version of the manuscript submitted to the journal prior to peer review. This is the initial version of the work that does not incorporate changes resulting from the review process.
Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM / Postprint) — the version of the manuscript that has undergone the full peer review process and has been accepted for publication by the journal editor, but has not yet undergone copyediting, typesetting, or formatting into the publisher's final layout. The AAM reflects the definitive scientific content of the article.
Version of Record (VoR) — the final version of the article published on the journal's website with all publisher formatting elements (typesetting, pagination, DOI, metadata, license).
2. Authors' Self-Archiving Rights
2.1. Submitted Manuscript (Preprint)
Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript in any repository or on a personal website at any time, including before, during, and after the peer review process. Posting a preprint is not considered prior publication and does not preclude consideration of the manuscript by the journal.
When depositing a preprint, it is recommended to indicate that the manuscript has been submitted for consideration to the journal "Achievements of Economics: Perspectives and Innovations". After the article is published in the journal, the author is required to update the repository record by adding the bibliographic reference to the published version and the DOI.
2.2. Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM)
Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript (AAM) in open institutional, disciplinary, or general repositories (such as Zenodo, university institutional repositories, etc.) immediately upon acceptance, with no embargo.
When depositing the AAM, authors are required to:
— provide the full bibliographic details of the published article (title, authors, journal, year, volume, issue, pages);
— include the DOI of the published version;
— include a link to the published version on the journal's website;
— indicate the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license;
— include the note: "This is an Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM). The published version of the article is available at: [URL/DOI]."
2.3. Version of Record
As the journal operates under a full Gold Open Access model with a CC BY 4.0 license, authors may freely distribute the published version of the article (PDF from the journal's website) without restrictions. Authors may:
— deposit the published PDF in any repository;
— post it on personal and institutional websites;
— share it through academic networks (Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, etc.);
— use it in educational and presentation materials.
The sole condition is the preservation of the proper bibliographic reference to the original publication and DOI.
3. Recommended Repositories
Authors may choose any open repository for manuscript deposit. The journal recommends using:
— institutional repositories of higher education institutions and research organizations;
— disciplinary repositories in the relevant field of knowledge;
— general repositories: Zenodo (https://zenodo.org), Open Science Framework (https://osf.io);
— Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
To verify a repository's compliance with international standards, it is recommended to use the Directory of Open Access Repositories (OpenDOAR): https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/opendoar/
4. Journal's Commitments
The journal "Achievements of Economics: Perspectives and Innovations" commits to:
— providing perpetual open access to all published articles on the journal's website;
— assigning a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each article;
— ensuring deposit of full-text article versions with assigned DOIs in the international repository Zenodo (https://zenodo.org), maintained by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN);
— maintaining up-to-date article metadata to ensure reliable identification and access to publications;
— not restricting the authors' right to self-archive any version of the manuscript.
5. Long-Term Content Preservation
To guarantee the preservation of and permanent access to all articles published in the journal, a complete archival copy of each article is stored in electronic format using the Polona library system.
In addition, the journal utilizes the available archiving tools of the OJS system (PKP Preservation Network). Upon publication, journal issues are automatically preserved in the distributed LOCKSS network among participating nodes.
An additional level of preservation is provided by the deposit of each article in the Zenodo repository, which ensures independent long-term preservation of scholarly content in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
Thus, the journal provides a multi-level archiving system:
— first level: journal website on the OJS platform (primary access);
— second level: PKP Preservation Network / LOCKSS (distributed preservation);
— third level: Polona (library archiving);
— fourth level: Zenodo (international repository with DOI).
6. Compatibility with Funder Requirements
This policy is compatible with the requirements of most Ukrainian and international funders and research foundations regarding open access, including the requirements of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU), the European Commission (Horizon Europe), as well as the principles of Plan S and the cOAlition S Rights Retention Strategy (RRS).
Authors who receive funding from these or other organizations may fulfill open access requirements by depositing the AAM or the published version in accordance with the terms of this policy.
7. Regulatory Framework
This policy has been developed with reference to:
— Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI);
— Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities;
— SHERPA/RoMEO recommendations (https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/) on self-archiving policies;
— Plan S and cOAlition S principles;
