Abstract

The relevance of the study is determined by the deepening of international integration, the digital transformation of the economy, and the need to enhance the efficiency of international economic cooperation under conditions of increasing global risks and Ukraine’s European integration. These issues are of particular importance in the context of post-war economic recovery, strengthening economic security, and improving the competitiveness of the national economy. The purpose of the article is to develop theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding and evaluating the effectiveness of international integration and to substantiate practical directions for improving contractual regulation and enhancing the effectiveness of international economic cooperation. Methods. The study employs the methods of theoretical generalization, analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, systematization, the structural-logical approach, graphical interpretation, and statistical analysis. Results. Modern theoretical and methodological approaches to interpreting international integration are examined, and its transformation from a model of trade liberalization to a comprehensive system of institutional, digital, and innovation-based interaction is identified. A methodological approach to evaluating the effectiveness of international integration based on resource, indicator, and institutional criteria is proposed. The dynamics of Ukraine’s economic, social, environmental, and innovation indicators of international integration are assessed, while resource indicators, integration risks, and the level of economic security are analyzed. The role of contractual regulation in ensuring the effectiveness of international economic cooperation is determined. The findings demonstrate that the effectiveness of international integration depends on regulatory harmonization, investment activity, digital readiness of the economy, institutional capacity, and the ability of the state to adapt to contemporary international requirements. Conclusions. The study substantiates the need to improve the methodological framework for evaluating the effectiveness of international integration through a comprehensive system of economic, social, environmental, and innovation indicators, the development of digital monitoring mechanisms, the improvement of contractual regulation, the strengthening of economic security, and the further harmonization of the regulatory environment with European standards.
