Abstract

Contemporary transformation processes within the global economic system significantly impact Ukraine`s financial and economic condition through the mechanisms by which global crises propagate. Intensifying systemic imbalance in the national economy heighten the vulnerability of business entities to external shocks — an issue of particular urgency amidst the full-scale war. Consequently, the risk of declining corporate solvency rises, negatively affecting investment attractiveness and the level of trust among potential partners and creditors.

The imposition of martial law following the russian Federation military aggression has significantly complicated the operating conditions for the domestic pharmaceutical business and heightened economic instability.  Under these circumstances, maintaining market positions and ensuring sustainable development require the systematic monitoring and continuous strengthening of the financial resilience of business entities.

An enterprises ability to meet its current financial obligations on time and in full, while simultaneously ensuring the continuity of its operations, is a key indicator of its financial stability and competitiveness. In this context, particular importance is attached to examining model approaches to analyzing the product portfolio policies and solvency of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as the development of new medicinal products – including those involving biotechnological process – R&D activities, and the refinement of management mechanisms amidst heightened economic uncertainty and risk.

Analyzing the product portfolio of domestic pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers is a key aspect of examining their market activities, as it determines the enterprises competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. Amidst intensifying competition and high consumer expectations regarding pharmaceutical and biotechnology product, the development of a rational product portfolio takes on strategic importance.

In this context, examining modern approaches to analyzing product portfolio policies is particularly relevant for identifying the   most profitable products and determining ways to optimize the portfolio and increase profits.
