The relevance of researching self-management for a modern leader is driven by dynamic changes in globalization and technological progress. In today's reality, a leader not only performs control functions but also acts as a strategist, leader, and mentor for their team. Effective self-management enables them to rationally allocate time, energy, and emotions, which enhances performance even under high stress and multitasking conditions. A lack of self-management skills can lead to burnout, overload, and decreased productivity, negatively affecting both the leader’s personal effectiveness and the overall performance of the organization.
This article examines the impact of self-management on the effectiveness of a modern leader. The main methods and techniques of self-management that help optimize work processes, improve productivity, and efficiently manage resources are analyzed. Special attention is given to the relationship between the level of self-management development and the leader's performance at both the individual and team levels. The consequences of insufficient self-management skills, including overload, burnout, and reduced management effectiveness, are explored. The article also discusses possible solutions to these problems and assesses the role of self-management in maintaining a leader’s psychological well-being.
The research results confirm that self-management is a key factor in successful managerial activity, contributing to stress reduction and improved decision-making effectiveness.
