Key dominants of innovative development of the transport and road complex

Abstract

The development of the transport and road complex (TRC) largely depends on the implementation of innovative solutions aimed at improving transportation efficiency, modernizing infrastructure, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring the sustainable development of the transport sector. This paper examines the conceptual foundations of innovative development and its significance for the transport industry.

The purpose  of the study is to systematize and characterize the key dominant factors of innovative development in the TRC, which will help determine strategic directions for its modernization. To achieve this goal, an assessment of each dominant factor influencing the development of the transport sector was conducted using methods such as system analysis, generalization, and literature review.

Results. The study analyzes scientific approaches to defining innovative development, based on which the author proposes a definition of innovative development for the TRC. The key dominants of innovative development for the TRC have been identified, namely: economic dominance – investments in innovative projects and infrastructure, clustering of the transport sector; technological dominance – implementation of digital technologies, automation, and innovative transport solutions; social dominance – improving safety standards, enhancing working conditions for personnel, and increasing qualification levels; ecological dominance – the development of environmentally friendly transport and sustainable transport infrastructure; organizational management – the development of public-private partnerships and the implementation of international management standards.

Conclusion. The study results provide a general vision of the innovative development of the transport sector, which can be used to formulate strategic directions for state policy in the transport industry, evaluate the effectiveness of innovation implementation, and develop mechanisms to stimulate innovative activities of enterprises.
