The influence of environmentally safe production methods on the formation of competitive advantages of goods

The current period of economic development is marked by the strengthening of corporate social responsibility in the activities of industrial enterprises, which makes it highly relevant to study the impact of environmentally friendly production methods on the formation of competitive advantages of goods. Global challenges, increased regulatory requirements, and growing environmental awareness of consumers actualize the need for businesses to integrate sustainable technologies into production processes. In this context, a responsible attitude to the environment ceases to be an optional aspect and becomes a necessary condition for maintaining competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and practical aspects of how environmentally safe production methods contribute to strengthening the market position of goods by enhancing their quality, consumer appeal, and brand value.
Methods: analysis of scientific literature – to explore current academic developments related to the research topic; generalization and systematization – to present the research findings in a consistent, systematic, and concise manner.
Results. It is shown that the use of environmentally safe technologies – such as resource-efficient processes, zero-waste production systems, green chemistry methods, and renewable energy sources – directly contributes to the improvement of key quality characteristics of goods. Products manufactured using eco-technologies generally demonstrate higher safety standards, longer service life, improved functional properties, and a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle. Moreover, an environmentally responsible production strategy fosters the development of a positive corporate image, which plays a crucial role in shaping consumer preferences, especially among audiences focused on sustainable consumption. The presence of eco-certifications, transparent environmental reporting, and participation in green initiatives significantly enhances the competitiveness of products, allowing companies to access new market segments, build strong customer loyalty, and gain price advantages.
Conclusions. The findings suggest that the integration of environmentally friendly production methods is a powerful driver of competitive advantage. It not only improves the technological and consumer characteristics of products but also strengthens the emotional connection between the brand and the consumer, ensuring long-term business sustainability.
