The modern digital economy is characterized by the rapid introduction of innovative technologies that radically change approaches to doing business and creating competitive advantages. The IT industry acts as a catalyst for these processes, generating revolutionary solutions in the field of cybersecurity, automation and artificial intelligence. At the same time, the economic justification of the implementation of such technologies remains one of the most difficult tasks for managers and investors.
This thematic section brings together research devoted to the analysis of economic efficiency and strategic impact of advanced IT technologies on the activities of enterprises. Particular attention is paid to innovative solutions in the field of cybersecurity, including Web Assembly and blockchain integration for high-performance front-end systems, confidential computing using secure enclaves and homomorphic encryption, as well as Zero Trust architecture for protecting corporate data.
An important area of research is the economic evaluation of automation technologies, in particular AI-driven adaptation of user interfaces, intelligent software testing systems and the use of virtual reality to improve the quality of development. Separately, the issues of the economic effect of the implementation of machine learning for resource forecasting in long-term projects and bioidentification in multi-tenant cloud systems are considered.
Methodological approaches include quantitative assessment of the ROI of technological investments, analysis of the impact on operational efficiency, research into the synergistic effects of integrating different technologies and modeling long-term competitive advantages. Special emphasis is placed on the development of practical tools for making management decisions regarding technological investments.
The research results are of practical importance for top managers of IT companies, investors, government agencies that form digital development policies, as well as scientists who study the relationship between technological innovations and economic efficiency. The section's publications will contribute to the formation of scientifically sound approaches to managing digital transformation and increasing the efficiency of investments in innovative technologies.
