Increasing the competitiveness of electricity exports from renewable sources as part of the development of aggregation

The article studies and generalises the definition of the concept of competitiveness. The main components, external and internal factors of competitiveness of Ukrainian electricity in the European energy markets are analysed. Cost, technical, technological and efficiency indicators for improving the competitiveness of electricity produced from domestic renewable sources are identified. In addition, it is argued that it is necessary to create and maintain favourable political and financial conditions for the stable functioning and development of this industry. The factors influencing the competitiveness of such electricity, particularly on the cost side, are considered in detail. The author analyses the trends in the generation of electricity from renewable sources in the European Union and Ukraine, and identifies the dynamics of changes in the share of these sources of electricity generation in recent years. Using the example of some European countries, the author repeatedly notes the lower cost of electricity produced from renewable sources compared to the cost of electricity produced in thermal and other traditional power plants. Special attention is paid to the technical and technological factors influencing the competitiveness of electricity from renewable sources in terms of performance indicators, and the directions and positive results of their improvement are outlined. The author also points out that it is impossible to completely abandon the production of electricity from traditional sources due to the need to maintain a balance between the production and consumption of electricity. The author considers such an element of smart grids as distributed generation as a factor in increasing the level of electricity production from renewable sources, as well as a way to overcome the problem of imbalance. The author substantiates both the legislative and the actual need to develop this area of energy. In particular, the main functions of distributed generation and positive aspects of its implementation are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the development of electricity storage systems within the framework of distributed generation. As part of the implementation of distributed generation, it is proposed to pay special attention to aggregation activities at all its levels, which in turn will help to overcome the problem of imbalances, as well as to significantly increase the level of electricity production from renewable sources and to increase its competitiveness both on the domestic and foreign markets.
