Abstract

The article explores modern approaches and trends in the information support of scientific research in the field of economics. It is substantiated that high-quality information support is a necessary condition for developing well-founded conclusions and recommendations in academic activity. The study examines the types of information resources, their classification features, and methods of application in research. Key functions of information support are identified, including orientation, methodological, analytical, and forecasting functions. The article outlines challenges related to the unreliability of sources, information overload, and risks of violating academic integrity. Modern digital tools and platforms used in economic research are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to open data sources, scientometric systems, and electronic repositories. The role of the interdisciplinary approach in forming a research information base is emphasized. The article highlights the possibilities of applying statistical, mathematical, logical-analytical, and software-based methods for data analysis. It is shown that the use of software such as R, Python, SPSS, and Power BI significantly enhances research efficiency. Considerable attention is given to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in processing economic information. The potential of large language models to increase researchers’ productivity is examined. The article distinguishes the advantages and disadvantages of using AI in scientific activities. Ethical and legal challenges are addressed, particularly in relation to copyright, data reliability, and confidentiality. The importance of digital literacy and critical thinking for the modern researcher is emphasized. It is concluded that effective information support requires a combination of technological innovation and methodological rigor. The article provides recommendations for forming a modern information ecosystem for economic research. It serves as a theoretical and methodological basis for further applied studies in the digitalization of economic science.
