Abstract

The relevance of this study stems from the growing role of transport infrastructure as a determining factor in the competitiveness of the national economy amid global instability. The dynamic development of markets, the digitalization of management, increasing global economic fragmentation, and rising levels of uncertainty necessitate a systematic analysis of the challenges facing the operation and development of transport infrastructure. In the current environment, the issue of studying the peculiarities of transport infrastructure operation has become particularly relevant, especially in the context of uncertainty, global macroeconomic turbulence, and systemic risks. The methodological basis of the study was general scientific methods for understanding economic phenomena and processes, including analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparison, and generalization.

It has been established that Ukraine’s transport infrastructure operates under the influence of a number of interrelated risks of a macroeconomic, security, investment, fiscal, and foreign economic nature. A significant link between a number of institutional factors and the sustainable development of transport infrastructure has been substantiated. The directions of state influence on the processes of transport infrastructure restoration have been identified. It has been demonstrated that the reliable functioning of transport infrastructure significantly influences the prospects for post-war restoration, the expansion of national export potential, and the stabilization of the labor market.

As a result of the study, the research objective of identifying directions for developing a mechanism for the operation and development of transport infrastructure was achieved. The restoration of transport infrastructure will largely depend on the ability of public authorities to create a favorable environment for the implementation of investment projects, ensure institutional predictability, and promote the growth of transport mobility.
