The relevance of the study stems from the dynamism and instability of the modern business environment, particularly in startup ecosystems, which are characterized by high risk, rapid changes in market conditions and technological trends, requiring rethinking approaches to the formation and validation of business models. The purpose of the article is to analyze theoretical and methodological approaches to adapting the Business Model Canvas to the conditions of uncertainty inherent in startup environments. The study used the following methods: analysis of the scientific literature to examine current developments in the field; generalization and systematization to present the study's results.
It is noted that the classical structure of the Business Model Canvas, despite its value as an analytical tool, requires conceptual rethinking in the context of dynamic markets shaped by innovation. The economic essence and evolution of the Business Model Canvas as a tool for creating, providing and receiving value, as well as its limitations when applied to startups at early stages of development, characterized by incomplete information and high risk, are analyzed. It is established that startup ecosystems function as complex, interactive environments where numerous stakeholders influence the configuration and transformation of business models. It is noted that uncertainty is present across all elements of the startup business model, particularly customer segments, value propositions, revenue sources and key resources, necessitating ongoing verification and adjustment. It is proven that the adaptation of the Business Model Canvas to startup ecosystems should be based on the consistency, integration into the ecosystem and flexibility of all structural components. An adaptive Business Model Canvas is proposed, combining elements of scenario planning, risk assessment and feedback mechanisms, enabling startups to effectively respond to changes in the market environment.
It is proven that transforming the Business Model Canvas into a dynamic and adaptive tool increases its practical applicability in startup ecosystems and contributes to greater resilience, scalability and sustainable development of innovative enterprises in conditions of uncertainty.
