Abstract

The relevance of the study is determined by the active development of the gig economy, the expansion of platform-based employment models, and the transformation of mechanisms for creating economic value under conditions of economic digitalization. In the contemporary digital environment, intellectual capital is increasingly becoming a key resource for ensuring competitiveness, innovative activity, and economic sustainability of distributed organizational structures. At the same time, the decentralized nature of interaction, instability of platform labor models, and algorithmization of managerial processes complicate the effective evaluation, management, and monetization of intellectual capital, which actualizes the need to develop new theoretical and applied approaches to its economic capitalization. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical and applied foundations for ensuring effective monetization of intellectual capital under the functioning of distributed organizational structures of the gig economy. Methods. The study employs methods of generalization, systematization, structural-functional analysis, comparative approach, analytical modeling, and logical generalization to investigate the peculiarities of the formation, evaluation, and monetization of intellectual capital within platform models of economic interaction. Results. The essential characteristics of intellectual capital in distributed gig economy structures are investigated, and the specifics of its formation under conditions of digital labor coordination are determined. The influence of digital platforms, network interaction, and flexible employment models on the processes of creation and monetization of intellectual capital is identified. Methodological approaches to evaluating the efficiency of intellectual resource utilization, considering economic, behavioral, and digital parameters of professional activity, are substantiated. It is proved that the effectiveness of intellectual capital monetization increasingly depends on digital adaptability, network integration, reputational sustainability, and the ability of participants in the platform environment to respond rapidly to changes in market demand. At the same time, key problems are identified, among which the complexity of evaluating intangible assets, the dependence of performers on algorithmized platform mechanisms, instability of project-based employment, and the insufficient level of legal protection of intellectual labor dominate. Conclusions. The expediency of implementing transparent systems of digital evaluation of professional efficiency, knowledge management mechanisms, and integrated analytical tools for intellectual capital within platform structures is proved. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches to improve the efficiency of intellectual resource management and ensure sustainable monetization of professional competencies in the digital environment. Prospects for further research are associated with the development of adaptive models for intellectual capital evaluation, improvement of legal regulation mechanisms for platform employment, and investigation of the influence of artificial intelligence on the transformation of digital monetization processes of intellectual labor.
