Abstract

The purpose of the article was to analyze the impact of martial law on the economic stability of agrarian business in Ukraine. To achieve the goal, such general scientific research methods as analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalization were used. The results revealed that the Russian aggression against Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, caused significant challenges for the leading industries of Ukraine, in particular for the agricultural sector. Among the main problems faced by agrarian business at the beginning of the war, the occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine, problems with logistics, a shortage of workers, shelling of agricultural lands were singled out. The Government of Ukraine adopted a number of measures to support the agricultural sector and foreign trade in the conditions of martial law. These measures included lowering taxes, minimizing bureaucratic procedures for producers of agricultural products, granting permission to use agricultural machinery without registration, and simplifying the import of seeds. Despite all the challenges of martial law, some Ukrainian agricultural holdings were able to adapt to the new conditions and continue their activities. The main tools that helped them adapt are: entry into new markets, introduction of innovative technologies, establishment of partnerships with international companies, diversification of production. In the post-war period, the main directions of ensuring the sustainable development of the agricultural sector should be the restoration of human capital and the development of the personnel potential of the agricultural sector, the activation of investment activities, technological development and the gradual restoration of the technical capabilities of the agricultural sector, and the search for new sales markets for products. The conclusions indicate that the military conflict has completely changed the conditions of conducting agricultural activities in Ukraine, which was reflected in the production, logistics and export of agricultural products. The development of agrarian business in Ukraine in such conditions and in the period of post-war recovery has significant potential, but requires a responsible approach and cooperation of various parties.
