Development of international integration processes on an innovative basis

The relevance of the study is determined by the intensification of global economic instability, the acceleration of world economy digitalization, the growing role of innovative technologies, and the necessity to increase the efficiency of international economic interaction under conditions of structural transformations of the global economy. The purpose of the study is to substantiate strategic directions for the development of international integration processes on an innovative basis in order to strengthen the competitive positions of national economies under global transformations. Methods.The study employs methods of generalization, systematization, comparative analysis, structural-functional approach, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, scenario modeling, and logical-analytical modeling to assess the specific features of international integration development within an innovation-oriented economic environment. Results. The essential characteristics of international integration processes in the context of innovative development of the global economy have been investigated. The dynamics of high-technology trade, R&D expenditures, digital transformation, and innovation activity in the European Union and Ukraine have been analyzed. The conducted correlation analysis confirmed that the strongest influence on the development of international innovation integration is exerted by high-technology trade, the level of digital transformation, and the scale of R&D financing. Based on cluster analysis, the unevenness of international innovation integration and the differentiation of countries according to their technological and digital capacity have been identified. Scenarios for the development of international integration processes between Ukraine and the European Union on an innovative basis for 2026–2030 have been substantiated. It has been established that the key challenges to the development of international integration remain uneven technological development among countries, insufficient harmonization of the regulatory environment, risks of digital dependence, cybersecurity threats, and the low level of commercialization of scientific research results. Conclusions. The study substantiates the expediency of developing international innovation platforms, joint R&D programs, digital cooperation infrastructure, and international technological clusters as a basis for strengthening international integration interaction. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches to enhance the efficiency of international economic cooperation, technological modernization of the economy, and the strengthening of Ukraine’s integration into the European innovation space. Prospects for further research are associated with the development of adaptive models of international innovation integration, improvement of digital coordination mechanisms for international partnership, and assessment of the influence of AI technologies on the transformation of global economic processes.
