Investing in personnel development activities at Ukrainian enterprises

The purpose of the article is to analyze the theoretical foundations of personnel development, to conduct a study of investments in employee development on the example of a Ukrainian enterprise and to propose a strategy for employee development with the possibility of implementation at Ukrainian enterprises. Methods. The article uses comprehensive methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization. The theoretical basis is the research carried out by domestic scholars. Results. This article examines the topic of investing in staff development activities at Ukrainian enterprises. The purpose of the study is to identify and communicate to the managers of the enterprise the importance of investing in employee development as the most valuable resource that positively affects the growth of the enterprise itself. At the beginning of the study, the author defines the theoretical foundations of employee development and outlines the main arguments of a manager in favor of staff development. The system of employee development is studied on the example of the Ukrainian enterprise Silpo-Food LLC. Having studied the model of staff development, it was noted that first of all it is necessary to determine the need for training of employees, allocate resources and develop a program to determine its effectiveness by assessing the impact of employees on the financial performance of the enterprise under study and changes in their own productivity. It was determined that the main means of staff development for Silpo-Food LLC in 2022-2023 were lectures, trainings, workshops and master classes held for the chain's employees. Another important element of staff development in the company is the involvement of employees in business processes, which helps employees to adapt faster and gain useful skills both for the employee and Silpo-Food LLC. Conclusions. The article proposes a strategy for employee development that can be adapted to the activities of Ukrainian enterprises and characterizes the group of resources that are necessary for a staff development strategy. In the course of the study, it was determined that the key to the success of an enterprise is its staff, and in order for it to be effective, it is necessary to invest in its development and training.
