Abstract

Amid growing external turbulence - triggered by escalating economic instability, military threats, climate-related disruptions, and the accelerating pace of digital transformation - there is a heightened and urgent need to modernize and adapt existing approaches to economic diagnostics. The purpose of this study is to theoretically justify and practically develop a transformational model of economic diagnostics that incorporates a risk-oriented approach, adaptive management tools, and modern information-analytical technologies. Methods. The research employed structural-logical and comparative analysis, content analysis of scientific sources, systematization of diagnostic approaches, as well as tools of integral assessment, SWOT analysis, risk mapping, and the construction of multiplicative indices.

Results. The essence of economic diagnostics is substantiated as a comprehensive system supporting managerial decision-making. The necessity of transforming classical evaluation models toward the integration of risk management tools, flexible scenario analysis, and digital analytics is confirmed. A structure of diagnostic tools is proposed, including performance, liquidity, and stability indicators; risk matrices; SWOT and GAP analysis; and adapted analytical reports. The value of economic diagnostics for both strategic and operational enterprise management in crisis conditions is defined. Proposals are formulated for implementing unified approaches to integrated diagnostics considering the digital competence of managers. Conclusions. Economic diagnostics must evolve into a systemic, adaptive management tool capable of responding to dynamic environmental changes. The integration of digital technologies, analytical forecasting, and risk-oriented models enhances diagnostic accuracy, minimizes the impact of uncertainty, and supports the achievement of enterprises’ strategic goals. This study contributes to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations and provides practical guidelines for adapting diagnostic systems to modern challenges.
