Abstract

Abstract. The relevance of the study is driven by the need for enterprises to accelerate business process automation in the context of digital transformation and the growing demand for tools that enable flexible, scalable, and accessible modelling without requiring significant IT resources. Low-code platforms, which combine visual tools with process logic, are increasingly used in electronic process management; however, their organisational effects, functional limitations, and associated risks remain insufficiently explored.

The purpose of the article is to identify the specifics of applying low-code platforms in the management of electronic business processes and to substantiate approaches to improving their efficiency in a digital environment.

The research methodology is based on applying structural-functional and systems approaches to analyse digital platforms, conduct content analysis of the functional characteristics of leading low-code solutions, and compare their practical use in the business environment. A logical-analytical generalisation of process modelling and implementation outcomes in management systems was also employed.

The study's results indicate that low-code platforms facilitate the decentralisation of managerial decision-making, shorten development cycles, and improve process flexibility. It was found that their implementation results in a transformation of the role of IT departments, increased involvement of business users, and the development of new models of digital competence. However, limitations related to scalability, compatibility with existing IT systems, and security risks under cloud configurations were also identified.

In the conclusions, the feasibility of implementing a centralised change management model, standardising process modelling, developing digital skills among staff, and monitoring the effectiveness of automated solutions within a unified management system is substantiated.

The prospects for further research are related to the development of indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of low-code technology implementation, the construction of adaptive digital architecture models, and the study of the long-term impact of such platforms on the strategic governance of organisations.
